You know when you've been de-tango'd!
Finally had the ***** to do it....here's how it went...
Last Monday I decided to take the plunge as I was on holiday and had nowt to do Went out at 10:30am to start taking the lights out. Thanks to all the links I found on SN about how to do this, I thought it would be a piece of pish - oh no! Upper grille was easy enough, then 3 bolts to undo each light..again easy enough. Now push the lights out....argh! Maybe mine were in tighter than some but they did not want to move. They are held in by a rubber clasp but it felt like a bolt was still holding them in. Went back for another read about this and decided to use a screwdriver to get some leverage. Prised the white plastic arm (where the lower bolt was) away from the metalwork and managed to get enough 'push' from low down at the back to get it out of the rubber clasp. During this time I managed to cut my forehead open (only a little bit of claret) on the bonnet catch while trying to get a better view of what was going on - doh!
Next step was to get the lights fully out. Thanks to a comment from Pippyrips in one thread I came across I masked the paintwork around the lighthole as it is quite tight and this definately saved me some paint touchups! Cheers Pippyrips
Once I had one out decided to use a hair dryer to heat it up. Bad move....the missus's hair dryer has a thermostat on it and would start back up after 5mins of use! Only option was the oven It only just fit as we have a double jobby. Went for 50C for 4 mins, then checking every 2mins after that....24mins later I managed to get it open. Still hard work fishing the orange out - are you supposed to split it into two or just shove your hands into the opening? Managed it anyway (although with less skin left on my hands). Second light went in at 100C for 6mins and took about 10 or so.
Whole thing took me 4.5hrs but well worth it. Love how it looks now. I had never seen or heard of this before seeing it on SN - cheers all
If anyone is thinking of doing this....just go for it. Oven part is easiest suprisingly.
PS. my car is only just over a year old and wish I had done it sooner.
PPS. Went for Philips silvervision WY21W indicator bulbs from Powerbulbs - £13 delivered with some free W5W sidelights.
Here's a couple of pics....
Oh, also thanks to SN I went for the rear light/brake light swap-over (AKA JDM tail light mod?).

Please enlighten me, curious to know what you are referring to.

Have a look at this thread:

Just moves the rear side lights to the circle - looks good IMO.

I must get the time to finally getting round to this. Even the free stella/beer offer didn't tempt anyone and the garage doesn't want to do it.
Just replenish the skin on my knuckles from a w/end doing stud/floor work, then i'm on it.
Does lOOk better!
