I have it booked in at a place called mikemachanics closest place to me with a four wheel rolling road. Last time the car was there being tuned he told me he would need to put a defender on the ecu so he could up the boost setting if i wanted to increase the performance anymore

Terzo
1997 saw Subaru win the WRC manufacturers title for a third time in succession. Even before the official announcement to the UK Subaru dealers, rumours were circulating over the inevitable release of a third special edition, with the possible specification suggested being very close to the final car. Available from April 1998 onwards, at an on the road price of £22,995, a total of 333 "Terzo" special editions have been produced (numbered 1 to 334, omitting 13). Terzo is Italian for third. This is to celebrate the third WRC championship victory in a row, and hence the third special edition. Specification for the Terzo is as follows:
* Special mica blue paintwork (similar but not identical to the current WRC cars)
* Current style 16 inch alloys, but painted gold
* Air conditioning
* Alacantra + suede effect interior trim (Same front seats as fitted to recent STi models, but without embroidered STi logo, and red shoulder flashes)
* Interior number Terzo plaque
* Cobra 6422 Thatcham Category 1 alarm with remote central locking
* Side and rear Terzo decals
* Special Terzo floor mats
* Non folding rear seat

The fuel cut is there to stop your engine going pop!
If you want more power, you're looking at a replacement ECU and a remap. This will safely make the most of your decat.
Boost is just one part of the equation: fueling and ignition need to be adjusted to suit!
Speak to someone like Andy Forrest if you're in the North, or Simon, AKA Jolly Green Monster if you're in the South.
It won't be cheap, but it WILL be reliable. You play, you pay!

Hi all
Been reading with interest what is being written.I know mike personally as he is mainly into full grp A Rally car prerperation whether it be from old mk2 escorts thru to scoobys, evos or cossies.
He tuned and looked after my cossie for a long time with no mishaps at all and ran a genuine proven 414bhp turned on the key and went every time no matter how i drove it.
The work you are thinking of means mike will link a fuel/air ratio monitor linked with a set of det cans and the car will be gradually mapped to suit the fuel/mix.For the purpose of reliability he will also fit a cut defender to make sure there is no over boost and therefore no engine damage.
Mikes big thing is reliability, as he used to say with my cossie could run more to get more but will sacrifice something else.
I recommend him mate and now i've got an evo will take that there without hesitation.

What will he be using to map the car?
Not Ecutek, as that's MY99 onwards.

Not to sure about the what he will be using as i'm not that clued up as yet on japanese performance cars, still at the learning stage, i've been rs turbo 1st then cossie for the last ten yrs.
I know his methods and before he does anything he gives the car full diagnostic check to make sure his starting point is right before he considers doing anything else, and he will tell you if it ain't right.
Last time out on the cossie he actually reduced the boost and changed the set up to make the car far better on the road rather than untractable and power figures.
