How hard can it be to adjust handbrake correctly?
Just paid £250 for the privilege of having a 2yr service done on my MY05 WRX only to find when I pull on the handbrake to the same level as normal on a slight incline the car rolls backwards. I suppose the obvious answer is to take the car back but would like to know if there is any way of knowing exactly what tension their should be. i.e how many inches gap between button on handbrake handle and plastic surround?

I find that I pull the handbrake until it's 'on'; I find this out buy the resistance it offers back to me.
I've never heard of it having a 'position' to set it to and using that!
Havinhg said that, it will be spec'd in the service manual about how many clicks or whatever.
Take it back to the garage if you have a problem.
