That's what I understand it to be - it's more a tightening up job than a service

Exclamation

Is it a uk or import??
A uk car shouldnt cost you anything except labour, a euro import should cost you around 90-100 quid.

Sorry I lied, that was the 6 month/7500 service. For a euro Import it cost
50.00 for labour,
00.71 for a gasket oil drain P
10.12 Oil Filter
10.65 Vat
71.48

I thank you!

Just a thought.

I think mine was £50-60, one week after getting it!

Needed to get rid f that light oil and get the full fat stuff in there as fast as possible!

My 1000 mile service (MY01) from a main dealer...

Oil & Libricants - GBP25.00
Oil Filter - GBP10.12
Gasket-oil - GBP0.71
Plus VAT - Total = GBP42.10

I also had my PPP fitted, but that was already paid for.

Question

Tony,
Why does a euro-import cost 90-100 quid and a UK car just labour ? Has the import got different parts ?!!?

Blaster - you have to pay parts only for a UK-sourced car as the labour for the service is "free". Or, put another way, it's factored into the "slightly" higher price that you pay in the UK.

Chiark or anyone else, why is labour only free on a UK car?

Just picked up my MY02 from Belgium and the 1000 has a place for a stamp the same as the 7500 etc. I dont see why it should be treated differently. Free labour.

Is this an exception to the rule, I was led to believe that being a euro import it wouldn't have the 1000 miler in the service book.

daveboy - where's your oil or did you supply your own.

I'm sure the UK price includes the "free" labour for the 1000 mile service.
Seeing as your Euro import has saved you x-thousand punds, I wouldn't go moaning about £50 or £100 on labour for the service.

1000 mile sevice is free but you still have to pay for oil and filter which came to a total of £45 for my UK300.

Wink

Oh Alright then, mungo says it's only £50 or £100 so I'll pay for it then shall I. Even though there is no reasoning behind you saying this. I saved money therefore by rule of thumb I should pay extra??? I didn't realise I was moaning, just a question, I was trying to understand why there is a difference for euro imports.

You could apply the same attitude towards every other service interval aswell, and what's with the ANGRY face.
