Default Fitting Performance Creations flaps - help pls!

Just trying to fit the flaps I ordered, quick, rather silly question, do I need to remove the wheels one by one to fit the flaps? I can't see how I'm supposed to get round the wheel otherwise... FYI i'm fitting to a bugeye.

Cheers!

What a pile of crap!

I bought these under the impression they'd be easy to fit... After an hour, myself and my dad can't even drill a hole into the chassis to fit the 'self tapping screw'. I'm going to have to either send them back of get a garage to fit them for me! V dissapointing tbh

I fitted mine 2 weeks ago, had no probs and didn't need to take the wheels off either. I just turned the front wheels outwards depending on which side I was working on and used a cordless drill to drill the holes into the chassis and then also used the cordless drill to screw in the self tappers at the front.

I slightly jacked the car and worked from underneath as this was easier to drill in holes for the sell tappers.

Hope this helps

PS - make sure the hole you drill for the self tapper is not as wide as the thickness of the screw, otherwise your screw won't hold. Just use a thin drill bit to drill the hole.

Likewise i did mine ok. Took about 1 1/2 hours all in, but i did remove the front wheels to make access a bit easier.

Finally managed to do it! The main difficulty seemed to be drilling a hole into the chassis (I swear it's made of granite).. Still weren't able to get the screw all the way in, but it's far enough that it's now secure.

Bit of a nightmare, but the end result does look rather cool, so I'm pleased!

Also cracked my head open on the garage door in the process, and lacarated 4 fingers on the stainless brackets.. All in all not the best day for me! (hense the arsey second post! haha)

Just fitted Prodrive flaps to my 05 STI, great fitting kit with no need to drill holes!

Well said! U should not need to drill any holes as rust will set in. Fitting copy flaps not recommended! Get the Prodrive or Scoobyworld etc ones. Not Ebay el cheapos flimsys..
