What's the cheapest way to get your Import back from Belgium ?

Had mine delivered to my door in the South East for about £420 on a transporter IIRC. Sorry that was no help at all having just read your question again.
Before i had it delivered I looked into driving it back across but didn't like the idea of only having 3rd party insurance on the trip back through Fance and Beligium. By the time you add travelling costs it seemed more sensible to use a transport company.
Cheers

Slightly off topic, but it may help. My car came from Holland, but the same route could be used.
As I live a long way from the Ferry, I chose to fly to Amsterdam (£21 - thanks Stelios), train to the town (£11 - NS put the UK trains to shame), and dealer picked me up from there. Came back via the Ferry.

Drove to Belgium, took very little time (used Chunnel)
Drove back.
Might be cheaper to swim across and push the car back, but I wouldn't recommend it.
Annoying thing was that a day return on the chunnel is very cheap, but the one way trip for the second car cost much more. Mad.
Got transit plates with a month's insurance which was handy because it was August, so I waited for that to expire so I could register the car as a '51' rather than a 'Y'.

The best option by far is to use a company called CCS. I used them 2 months ago. No need for insurance, or trade plates. Delivered into a compound in london 5 days after the car arrived in Belgium. Only cost me £280 (inc vat) all in. (they wanted another £40 to my door, but I live quite close to London)
Car was 100% intact, with only 3 miles on the clock.
