(Well, nearly!)
Some baseball capped, three ear-ringed scumbag managed to lose control of his crapped out FORD MkIII RS Turbo and smash through their garden wall and narrowly miss their house.
Surprisingly, this house is in the middle of a looooong straight stretch.
Turbo-boy seems to have lost it halfway up the road, miraculously missed all the parked cars and speared bayonet-like through two garden walls.
Next door aren't impressed either. Their house is for sale!! (Now minus one garden wall).
Guess what?!?
NO TAX, NO MOT, 4 bald tyres, all 4 tyres different SIZES!
So, anyone know best way of claiming compensation/insurance, etc?? After all, he won't have ANY will he!!!
Cheers,
Squizz.

Not good! I own an RS Turbo, and I can assure you that we aren't all driving round with our cars in that state.
At least it was only the wall that got damaged and not anyone who lives there, or the house. Hopefully the car will be off the road for good now, along with the driver.
I hope the full power of the law is brought down on the driver and he is banned for a long time. No MOT or insurance and 4 bald tyres is just extracting the urine a little bit.

GazP - Appreciate your thoughts, and I was unfortunately wide in my stereo-typing.
My poor friend wandered out into the throng of neighbours, etc...Not knowing who was the driver - Until she spotted this fella. Surprise, surprise
Rich - Actually it was Stourbridge, but the Worcester gene knows no bounds!

There is a fund set up by the UK insurers to help those people who have a claim against un-insured drivers, I think its called the MIB or somehting or other.

Thanks for the info.
I guess the best plan of action is to claim on the house insurance, and then let the insurance company worry about dealing with MIB (Not Will Smith!).
I'll let you all know what happens to the toe-rag responsible!

I've always been a bit confused by this uninsured driver mallarky.
If the driver isn't insured against 3rd party liabilities, can't they be sued directly for damages?
"So you're not insured then, son? OK, we'll auction your car, your stereo, all three of your earings, and your house if you have one, and you can pay off this nice insurance company that settled on behalf of their clients the rest of what you owe them. When you get out of jail, that is."

there is an part of insurance that is called the uninsured loss fund that all insurance companies pay into, this covers drivers that are not insured and cause damage to property, be it cars, buildings, people or such like. This is one of the reasons insurance is going up as well as the stupid amounts of personal injury claims going through the courts. It will only get worse.

It really hacks me off, we pay our insurance of which part of it goes into to a fund to support the uninsured.
I bet the driver will get a ban and a small fine. It really sucks.
Phoned round for quotes and my insuranmce has gone up again.

Let's not turn this into yet ANOTHER "blah blah insurance industry blah blah robbing ba$tards blah blah" thread.....
The MIB does not exist to pay uninsured drivers, it is to compensate the VICTIMS of uninsured drivers - one day, hopefully not, you may be one.......
