I went by a trevello forward facing speed camera today and noticed there was another fixed camera in front of it which was smaller,forward facing and painted grey.Any idea what these are for?

 

don't they have to be yellow and in view to be active, not too sure what the smaller one os for though.

 

It was probably CCTV to catch people blowing up the truvelo LOL

 

Amber Gambler cameras are Grey, as are all the cameras on the M42 speed check zone

 

This camera isnt near traffic lights,so not an amber gambler camera.Its in the middle of a dual carridgeway,the trevello is painted yellow and the grey one is in front of it maybe a foot or two smaller. Its fixed,not mobile so assume its not a tax/insurance camera?

 

lol ...I dont think the colour of the M42 ones makes much difference tbh

 

might be wrong but ! think its there to capure a photo of driver, we have one like that in manor road Chingford , stops your wife taking the points.

 

As Dave said, its to stop you from saying that someone else was driving at the time and you cant remember who

Havnt seen any in Surrey but have seen them in Essex
