Early Type-RAs were available in red and white. That car is a POS and Id suggest that you forget about it.

The seller did say its a P1 'replica'. He's not saying its actually a P1. So, the P1 bit just refers to the bodywork. Who's to say the car isn't absolutely kosher?
Far to much assumption on here me thinks.

The 1995 model STI was only available in type RA guise. The RA was always painted white with a roof-mounted vent.Gold wheels were typical of the STI range as were the pink badges. Looking at the picture of the engine it's not 95 could be a 94 or even 93 as the intercooler is a bit of a give away. it may be an early wrx in red but had a respray in blue. You must get more info on that car. If you are still interested get a gc8 number from the engine bay and post it and i will tell you exactaly what year, bhp ,model.

lol yeah I saw those boobies lastnight and thought wtf!

Actually he didnt say it was a P1 replica, that was just me, he said it was a sti RA with a chargespeed bodykit with no electric wondows or mirrors, he's only had it 2 months after getting it from a dealer, he did give me a number of sorts, GC8011627, or is this chassis number not the right code? I did a HPI check with the details he gave me and the V5 docs match the car etc, I actually had a chat with him on his home number the other day and seemed ok...

heres a better pic of the engine see if you guys can decipher anything from it

Early WRX Type-RAs were available in Feather White and Vivian Red (later Active Red). The altered production 1995 STI Type-RA was only available in Feather White though. The car is probably a Type-RA (easily identified by the applied model number which will end 47D): irrespective, its a dogs dinner and Id steer clear if I were you.

It's defenatly not a 95 STI- RA looking at the intercooler. It maybe a early STI or a type RA but not a STI-RA.Subaru made a RA in 93 model code GC8A47D, and in 94 the first of the STI's came model code GC8B48D you must get a model code of the guy m8. The guy may not be awear of what he has bought. He could of paid as much as 2000 quid to much for that car thats the differance between the above mentioned models.I hope this helps you m8

Thats very misleading. 1994 STIs were retro-converted from production WRXs which is why they retained their standard WRX applied model number. a 48D is a standard WRX Saloon.

Has the intercooler water spray tank and I can see the white plug for the 5th injector so could be an RA.

As said RA's are available in red.

The HPI check came back as a 95 P1, which is odd, unless the importer THOUGHT it was a P1 and registered as such?

I would walk away, plenty of nice ones about if you take your time and look around. Selling would always be a problem as well.

Forget it MartinT find another.

It's very similiar to mine, but as far as i'm aware you don't get the AC on an RA regarless of model on the earlier cars, not that this helps.

Barge Pole comes to mind....

I'm going to look at another RA (96) on Tuesday, he says its had a rebuild by the previous owner, what should I look out for to ensure the engine is in good nick? its currently on 87000 but rebuilt at 70000.
