215bhp book.
Also got a MY99. Had the speedo up to 155 and it was still giving, but I dared not go any faster. Never had a GPS on it though so can't verify.
Dunno about 0-60.

Have a look here, it'll give you an idea:
Car Stats - Four Wheel Drive
Also, on the same site they have a 'performance calculator' which is interesting to see theoretically how much faster your car would be if you went from 270 to 320 bhp for e.g.:
Car Stats - Calculator
I found it interesting, that to achieve a theoretical 0-100 in exactly 10 seconds I would need 334bhp in my classic!

BULLSH*T!!!
Every inependent test that has been conducted has got it under 6 secs. Mid fives are most common. Basically the suggestion is that Subaru were deliberately pessimistics with the 0-60 to keep the car in Group 17 insurance. We know that the Bugeye is slower, yet Subaru (being more honest, possibly with an ulterior motive of needing to make it look like the bugeye was moving the game on by objective measures) quoted a 0-60 time of 5.9 secs. Despite significant improvements in safety from the Classic to Bugeye, the car then went up to group 19 insurance!! Hmmmm.
