I spoken to the Farkirk Subaru dealership last last month, about my00 P1's and MAF sensors.
Apprently only 99/00 Impreza's onwards are fitted with a MAF sensor.
Ring your local dealership to get more info and to double check which sensor you have.

sorry but that total toshabout only 99/00 impreza's onwards have maf sensors, i think you will find they were on the classics too.
