PHIL KEENE AND THE LITCHFIELD/POWERSTATION RACE CAR
Went to a Trackday at Donington today a 3 club event SIDC, MLR and Skylines.
I met up with loads of old friends and Iain and all the Guys from powerstation where there with the Race Car, I was hanging around to see if he'd let me drive it not much chance of that anyway back to the story. I was offered a Passenger ride with Phil Keene driving it.
The goes without saying an extremely fast and powerfull Car the handllng was also incredable but the star in the resonably Price Car (£50K ish) was Phil keene. His car control is just superb. the first time through Craners I thought we were both about to die, but after that I first inital shock, I seriously have never felt I've been in safer hands.
If you can ever get a ride with him, just do it

I have met Phil when on one of several visits to see Iain.
Phil is a very down to earth guy, approachable and easy to talk to.
I have great hopes for him and his career for the future. I really would like to see him go as far as he possibly could with his talent.
Check out his personal website:

and that of Keen Motorsport:

I think it is, nearly just wish i cold afford it
No he's not, anyone that young that can drive like that is Horrible only joking Phil LOL
I know what you mean he is a really nice pleasent young man
It's unbelievable how he attacks every corner 101% he is agressive yet the ride stiill a fairly smooth It' really weird, hard to describe, well me me. Even at piont's where the car seemed "out of control" "unbalanced" you could tell he was totally in Control.

Glad you liked it Tony, both car and driver can hussle It was funny to see people getting out, everyone’s first words were “Cranner!……”
We all had a great time at a superbly run event. Driving a 600bhp Spec C on semi slicks around a wet Donnington was hilarious Roll on the next event.

They Certainly Can
TBH I though we WERE going to die on first corner but after that, i have never felt so safe as a passenger before, the cars power, Grip and his Car Control, mind blowing.

Phil did give me a few pointers on lapping in the wet, but when you've got as many bad habits as me . I tried to take everything he said on board.
Think some tution is in order...

Sorry but you certainly missed an experience
LOL I went out with one instructor and he said " There are about 10 bad driving faults out on circuit, so I asked after the first lap, how many did i do? he said "There now are about 11 bad driving faults out on circuit"

Were you the yellow or green RA in the next garage to me?
Phil Keene did comment on my Subaru Tracksuit, saying I should be driving it dressed like that "I did explain all show and no go"
perhaps for £20K in Iains back pocket it could of happened

as flat4 mentioned, in yellow type R, need all the practice i can get to try and make up for lack of horse power in time attack

That was with car totally standard, power is now around 300-ish, suspension is sorted and bigger brakes, so should be quicker, can't do silverstone this year, time attack round clashes with a family do and the knockhill round clashes with trax

sorry memories crap, i always forget names, flat4 said i replied to one of his posts but i couldn't remember which one or what i'd wrote, or who he was. I'll get there eventually, a bit like the rail network.

He was at coombe a few years ago the same time you were I think that may have something to do with it
I drove it a few weeks back at Llandow, a tighter track than Donny and I can guarantee you that Donny is too fast for that car with the likes of us driving it in the wet
I love it but for some reason he won't let me have the race car upgrade on mine

Reminder to give Iain a b*****
I took the Type 25 Cossy out and thought I'd master the extra 65 bhp in a few mins it made mine seem like a Morris Minor
