classic vs bug vs blob
ok, honestly, without taking into account the looks!
Which is the best, only considering the WRX/UK turbo models, no sti etc.
As standard, which goes best straight line - i think classic, cornering though? i dont know.
Also which responds best to mods, would a bugeye with ARBs, lowered etc, be as good or better than a classic with the same mods.
Cheers

ive driven a couple of classic shape virsions and not overly keen, they feel very agricultural for some reason, cant put my finger on it.

<sits back with some popcorn> - this could go on for days!
Dan
ps Classics rule, Bugs - too ugly, Blobs - too fat, Japs Eye - well, enough said!!
However, IF Classics rule, it has to be the 22B, not the UK STI 5 Type R

That's one huge can of worms thee has opened there!
But me myself went from 2002 WRX new (in 2002) to classic Today and have never looked back!
Nothing wrong with the bug eye loved it at the time.... although when the STI came out felt a little bummed....
Sold Bug because I needed the money for a house,
When it was time to get back into scoobies....
I chose a classic MY99 just seemed more of a drivers car, sharper, angrier and almost 200 kgs lighter!
Although I'm still on the lookout for a 2005+ STI in white!
It's all down to what your looking for in a car.....
Classics are great drivers cars but a little raw,
WRX's are softer and more comfortable and a great for long distance.
Flame suit and..... asbestos undies tightly on! (bugger they're itchy!)
Plums.

IMO depends what looking for - for a weekend thrash \ track toy classic as its cheaper, lighter etc. For an everyday car bug \ blob, heavier but more refined than a classic, more sound proofing, suspsnsion seems a little more supple etc.
Had all three but convinced that my classic (MY00) was a bit of a friday car, where as my current blob is a great all rounder now its got some subtle mods

I know I'm going to make more enemies than Hitler by saying this... But I'm not at all keen on the looks of classic scoobies. *hides*.
I reckon the best looking so far is either blob eye or hawk eye, both look awesome. Bug eye (which I'm getting) isn't the most attractive looking car, but i think I prefer it to classics (just because the back looks good, if nothing else).
As for performance, being a complete fr00b I couldn't say, but I hear classics win hands down most of the time.

overall feel and driving pleasure is a classic.........
Am an owner blobeye of a 03 sti spec c and its for sale..
I have bought a 00 classic which i'm putting at least 15k into which i've gathered all parts nearly and my ej22 steel built block is ready..
opted still wanting general quick spool up.. so choose td05 18g.. may go 20g or md321t in future.. expecting figures of around 375-385 through motec management..
have no interest in new age imprezas so will hold onto this i reckon for a good long time..
