Default FMIC arrived

Bought one of these from flatfour online. Superfast delivered and quality looks good.

bought an ESL chip from andy for my 1994WRX import so should work well with my supporting mods. Kakimoto exhaust and downpipe, TD05 16G turbo, apexi induction kit, walbro pump, stainless uppipe, short shift to smooth things up on gear change along with ported/polished heads and headers.

Should see the good side of 280bhp with that... I have an apexi ready to go on but cant afford to map it right now... something to save for in the coming months.

You need to ditch the crappy clamps that are supplied with the kit...they are useless...

I used some mikalor clamps which where not cheap but made a whole lot of difference to the finished install.

Apart from that the kit was great

yes rooferman it is... Can only help lower charge temps which is a good thing.... i know its more laggy than the top mounts but i can live with the lag if it preserves my pistons from turning into scud missiles

Looks good. Interesting to know about the airflow at 100mph+
I just think the engine bay looks weird without the TMIC.
good luck fitting it, sounds like a job and a half.

I found that there not actually that much lagier mate, i fitted a hybrid fmic onto my previous wrx, my93, and it wasn't noticeable, improved the mid range pull nicely though.
I'll second changing the clamps to, my mate bought one like you've got and some of the clamps snapped when fitting it, very weak.
Get that re-map done as soon as you can else you could cause damage from it underfuelling, and or overboosting.

The cutting part of the inner wing I don't like the sound of.
I'm sure I'll be doing it before my first couple of years of scooby ownership are up

going by the posts i dont think its much cutting.... Its just to free up space and movment of the turbo outlet pipe.. Plus more air into the wing = more air for the filter.

Don't know if I already mentioned it Craig but might be worth putting some 440s on that as you will already be close to 100% IDC on the 380s, especially with the load you will see with the porting. Others have put a boost controller and run 1.2-1.3bar which should be a good bit over 300bhp dependant on how healthy your stock ignition is. Make sure you are running nothing hotter than a grade 7 plug gapped to 0.6mm. Much more than that and the MAF will max and the gearbox be on borrowed time
