Default Acronyms

Can someone shed some light on some of these that are mentioned on here

SIAL?
WYIOC?

Have searched but for obvious reasons the search results are no help whatsoever.

What obvious reasons pray? If you put SIAL into Search the second "find" is a thread saying "What does SIAL stand for, ffs?"

But I suppose you then have to put ffs into Search

Oh and POYCB translates into "Pi$$ Off You Clever B*****d

SIAL means it's a post seen many times before. The SIAL thread is infamous as it was posted fecking hundreds of times

OK - spoiler then. A long long time ago people started posting the same picture of the Scooby In A Lake. So when people now post something that has already been posted it is referred to as an SIAL post. All rather childish but can be useful when the same old thing keeps getting posted. Like my old jokes

Once got a report back at work from a real smart a*se character with the comment 'too many TLA's' - I couldn't work that out at all - eventually had to relectantly ask said smart a*se - turns out it meant 'three letter abbreviations' Grrrr!
