EBAY ENGINES
See these engine you can pick up from ebay. Supposed jap imports, 40k approx mileage, 3 month warranty blady blady bla...
Has anyone bought one before...., was it any good, can anyone recommend anyone decent, honest and trustworthy.
i have a 1994 WRX, camshaft (supposedly seized). Gonna open her up tomorrow night and find out damage. Worst case scenario replacment engine so just making sure i have an engine supplier ready if needed...
Any help??!!

I'd only go to a known source, such as API.
However, if the seller has good feedback then why not. If you're that concerned you could always email the buyers of previous engines and see if their experience is still good, say 3 months later.
Good luck with your old engine, you may not need a new one.

yeah fingers crossed i dont... Just bent valves but this cam siezing could be underlying problems.. Bottom end turns over ok. Find out tomorrow i suppose... I can get oe with warranty for £795 with no ancillaries... I just want to check if that means starter etc or just the block no heads...

I fitted one of those ebay engines a few weeks ago for a customer,it did require a new water pump and cam belt and had to swap all the ancilleries over from the old unit.It fired up straight away with no problems and went really well no smoke, rattles etc.
