Default So, if you can't import V 5/6 sti type Rs.....

...without a model report, which is not available;

how come there are some in this country at all?

Apologies if this has been asked before, but I couldn't think how to refine my search.

If cars over 10 years old are imported they don't need to have an SVA test. They only need to be MOT'ed

As for the other car that are under 10 years old they were probably imported before they change the import laws, as they decided there were too many 'grey imports' being imported. So they brought in the SVA test for safety purposes and to stop so many cars being imported?
I think that right

Bubba i see where you are coming from, there is some sort of scam going on as people are still registering V5/6 type r's e.g KTC.

So could a 1997 V3/4 Type R be registered in the UK now?

Or is it closed altogether unless theres a report?

You could register a V3 type r without a model report as they are now ten years old.

I've noticed there are quite a few type r's being registered as 4 door scoobs, could this be one of the ways round registering a 2dr scoob.

As for so them being in this country, those type r's were imported before the new requirements were put in place, about 2 years ago.

as said above, they are being registered as 4 doors, wrx's to be more precise, as it only comes up as a wrx on the v5 (log book) whatever model import you've got.
There are also a couple of 22b's going around registered as wrx's to !!

Stand in front of the qtr and hope the tester dosent ask them to move????
