Default Keys & Warranty

My key has stopped working (ie central locking wont work / engine won't start), its definatley not the battery in the key fob, is the key covered by the 3 year warranty, if not how much would a replacement key cost.

No problems with the spare key

Thanks

Had this prob on one of my previous scoobs. The key just needed to be
re-programed which the dealer did for free (outside of warranty). Took 5 mins

I also had mine recoded for free. Just make sure you take both keys with you as they are both set to a new frequency.

Thanks for the replys

Been to the dealers today and its booked in for Tuesday to be reprogrammed under warranty, they did tell me that if the battery goes flat or you remove the battery for more than 1 minute it losses it's memory.

Also if somebody presses your fob more than certain number of times whilst out of range of the car then it will screw up the limited number of rolling codes stored in the fob, so basically don't let kids etc play with the button while out of range.
