Morning All,

Just want to say hello to everyone! my first time on here, and also my first scooby!

I have a couple of questions to ask -

I have a 1995 WRX Type RA Import - can i change the turbo from a td04 to a td05 easily without any real modification?

Im looking at getting a turbo timer - are these easy to fit?

My boost is currently running at 0.6 - does this seem right? as it seems a bit low to me, what is a stable rate to push it up2?

Thanks

Ellis

think you should have a td05 already.
you can buy a harness for most of the japanese brand turbo timers to connect to your existing harness which makes it a lot easier but tbh if you don't drive too hard before you get to where you are going then it should be fine.
The boost seems a little low as the early wrx (non RA runs about 0.8bar)

No problem thats what these forums are for to find out what you have.
The turbo would have an ID plate on the casing (i don't know where exactly).
Best thing to do imo is find a local scooby specialist and get them to have a look at it and they can see if your car does have any problems before messing about with it.

This car was built with a TD05. Turbo timers are pointless gimmicks.

I take it you have a boost gauge that is telling you that you are running 0.6 bar? It could be the guage which is at fault....

Alternatively the car could have had its engine replaced with one out of a 'Wagon, along with the ECU.
