Anyone had any experiences with the current Focus ST???
On a private road of course???
What was the outcome?
I have a MY05 WRX STI PPP, would the ST stand a chance at any point?

One of our members 'AndyS' has one as a courtesy car whilst his JDM STi is getting repaired - and he was amazed at how well it handled for a FWD.
he told me that it woudl run rings around a WRX - not sure about a PPP STi though as these have 300bhp

Dont worry mate i had a black 06 ST2 which had a 3" turbo back system and chipped by collins performance runnin arround 270 bhp,it was good on top end but no accelleration and no revs kept it 2 month and traded it in,had a civic type r before and that was quicker, they only run 15-16 second quaters, useless!!!

I test drove an 06 Focus st when I was looking for a new company car. There was a bug eye wrx following me. In a straight line he couldn't keep up. I did pull a noticable gap on him. In the corners (in the dry) it felt very secure and the wrx didn't close on me. He was trying before people say he wasn't! My guess was that his was a standard wrx, i.e. non PPP. My Sti4 Type R would eat a standard Focus st.

The BugEye was probs 4 yrs older and down on a few horses compared to the ST. Not a chance in this world that a ST would challenge the same year WRX around the twisties (with equal drivers). They are a nice, well built car (or appear to be) with reasonable performance but the WRX is better IMHO
PS. My mate's Dad had the ST-3 for 6months and got rid (ex-Scooby owner).

I suppose I should admit that when I was looking for a comp car I had the ST, VXR and WRX on my shortlist. In the end Gordon Brown made my mind up for me and I ditched the scheme and bought a WRX myself

So if it don't have a chance against the current WRX then it stands no chance against my MY05 WRX STI PPP.
Interesting views on here though. Current figures for a standard Focus ST are:
222bhp
0-60: 6.5secs
Top Speed: 150mph
