Sorry if u knew this but....OMG panel gaps have a use
I was idly wondering around the internet, reading, once again about cars
Only to stumble on the following article written by some Aussie. Turns out that his 4 litre V8 power house relys on the panel gap between his bonnet and his front left headlight to deliver all of the air required for his intake system
Now he can take all the measurements he likes, and I don't care how sound his science is......but omg, they rely on panel gaps for their induction systems!!
Whole article:
AutoSpeed - Negative Boost Revisited, Part 3

I think if it works it works. Every car is diffrent and each owner to there own preferance. Cheers for the knowledge, i didnt realise manufactures utilised small but effective ways for induction.

It's right, new-age Scoobs scavenge air in the same way from behind three rubber seals (2 on bonnet, one around headlight) plus a bit of air that manages to creep up past the (hot) radiator. That's why I removed the ram-air scoop and intake resonator, sealed the airbox to the wing and closed off all engine bay to wing apertures (keep out muck and heat) and opened up a fresh (cool, clean) air feed into the O/S wing from the fake vents beside the foglight on my 03 WRX. Seemed to spool up a little quicker, run slightly cooler in traffic and made the DV and induction audible without compromising smooth running and reliability by fitting a chav valve.

dont just expect the air to suck up from underneath, strange things happen when your up to speed with air flow and such
a mid level sti4 rear spoiler on my car makes the rain on the back window, go in a clockwise direction when on motorways LOL
