Default Looking at buying first Scooby - S202 Help!

hi guys,

i am looking at buying my first scooby.

Had a budget of around 10k, until i saw the S202 on Keighley trade sports and performance website.

needless to say i fell in love and worked out how to find the extra cash. I wondered why no one had snapped it up as yet, but thought oh well, my luck must be in.

Now i was planning on going to see it next weekend. After a search on the forums it would seem that the car may not be what it seems. With questions of it age, plus i notice it doesnt have the correct wing on the back.

Now can anyone please shed some light on this for me? I dont want to miss out if it is waht it is, and i dont want to go buy some cut and shut dog!!

otherwise can someone recommend a decent dealer/importer. i am based on the southcoat (bognor) but dont mind travelling for the right car!

many thanks
mat

As the Cast said ...

f you've heard all they got to say
You looked but turned away
Walkaway, walkaway
If you've said all you got to say
And now the words just slip away
Just walkaway, walkaway, walkaway
That's what they say, what they say, what they say
You gotta walkaway

I had the EVO or Impreza dilemma too mate....you're more of a performance purist than me but I just couldn't resist the flat 4 burble

With regards to running costs fuel wise, mine is costing me the exact same as my LCR 225...which is £39 per week for Tesco 99ron...not too bad in my opinion.

30k service was done yesterday and was £430 at the dealers. You can get cheaper from a specialist (£350 on average) but I wanted to keep my full SSH.

In terms of practicality it's a sound bet

excellent, cheers russ.

What model do you have. Looking at UK cars a WRX (last shape) is most easily attainable. Is a STi worth shelling out for, is it that much better?

other option is a STi Bug eye?

I have a 2003 wrx PPP
0-60 in 4.8 and 0-100 in about 14
260 hp with 257lb torque

Chose it over an STi as it's a better every day car for me...although if I could have stretched to 'decent' STi PPP then I would have. In standard form (i.e no ppp or re-map) the STi's boost gets wound up around 4.5k rpm whereas mine is about 3.5k. Knowing your driving style I'd suggest the STi mate Nowt wrong with a bugeye either..

Some nice cars on that link.

As for the S202 at Keighleys, don't bother.

Go to Litchfield or someone reputable like them.

the S202 is not really suitable for everyday commuting, and mine would be for sale if the right price was offered
