Im 21 and currently 50/50 on whether I should trade in the 172 for a WR RB5 (MY99) that is up for £17995, insurance from Tesco is £1900!
Currently have a **** hot deal on the 172 insurance but after seeing a P1 & RB5 together yesterday I am very very tempted!
Though when I see my 18 year old brother pays £1800 to insure a 1.3 106 Rallye it dont seem too bad!

Does anyone know who is the youngest member of Scoobynet? The reason I ask is merely discuss ownership, as I myself am only 19 and hope to purchase my first Scooby very soon.

An 18 year old with a P1! Lucky lad! What do you pay on insurance? I am going to do the dreaded ring around on Friday, expecting a few giggles from insurers along the way aswell!

Tescos have my insurance, it is over £2000 (car is an import), they do require a tracker though.
Ring around, you may get cheaper, I couldnt though.
What car are you aiming for? A UK will be cheaper in ins, but a WRX will offer more smiles (just a few more though!)....

Phil, Keith Micheals may be worth a try, is see your location is close to mine, and they were by far the best for me, speak to Sefan - 0208 6436006, looked after me, really good service IMO.
I'm not on commission, not from them anyway.

Heres a few examples I just found on Autotrader, all around theright price. I wasn't particularly looking for the 5 door, but they seem to have a certain something about them. Anyway, performance and relaibilty are the key factors, so what do you think of the above?

It's a MY96 UK, heavily modded (17" alloys, full exhaust, prodrive pack, air filter, high spoiler)
The 3K was with Wilsons direct underwritten by Zenith Insurance. In fact they were the only company that didn't laugh!
I live in Rayleigh, near Southend on Sea. Car is garaged at night, doesn't have a tracker or cat 1 alarm.
Cheers

17!!
Had my licence a month, insured to drive my mum's company Impreza 2.0GL, and got my Impreza 1.6GL just over a week ago! 88bhp, but my pride and joy all the same
It's actually registered in my mum's name (with me a named driver) to make insurance possible, still £1100 F.C.
Yes mummy did pay, but those of you boasting you've paid for your own cars arnt in full time education now are you?!
