where and what to buy?
hi, my mate has a 2004 wr1. he has no p.c. & has asked me to gather some info for him.
he wants to put an induction kit, dump valve, a stainless exhaust, racing cat & possibly a down pipe.
i have this done on my mr fq340 & it made a good difference to it. where can i get a competitive price for these parts and is there any point in a racing cat bar keeping the noise down?
what type of dump valve suits the wr1? i have the hks sqv on my evo and its a pig to drive around town. i had to raise the rev range to stop it from dying out at stop signs.
again what kind of exhaust should he go for? his wife drives the car so he doesnt want anything too loud & something that wont change the driveability too much. maybe something a bit more grunty than his standard pipe.
i dont think he will be doing anything more to the car after this so i suppose something to suit up too 380bhp ish.
thanks

1. A wr1 is fitted with a sports cat in the downpipe, replacing this will do nothing to enhance performance.
2. Dump valves can cause problems, not worth changing
3. induction and stainless exhaust will require a remap otherwise there can be complications.
4. A wr1 will never make 380bhp on its standard turbo (and possably headers), 350 is possible though
5. easier just to buy a JDM STi which is better and remap that.
