Default road re-map

first of all sorry for another re-map question

i will be having my car remapped over the the next month or so, it will be mapped on the road, i have looked through some old threads saying you need to do full throttle runs in 3rd 4th and 5th which is all good just not down normal roads does it really need to be done like this as i drive petrol tankers for a living and if i lose my license i lose my job, the person i will hopefully be using maps on the road so just wondering really can it be done at slower speeds and still be quick when i need it and importantly reliable
thanks in advance
daniel

You will need to do a full throttle run in 3rd. Don't worry, the mapper'll know an appropriate spot.

Most of my mapping was done in 5th, with occasional high throttle work. My recommendation is to only do what your 100% comfortable with and above all, be safe. Your other options are to get someone else to do the driving, get mapped on the rollers, or book an airfield/track.

Andy F mapped mine on some B roads near York. Never broke any speed limits really, most of the work was done with 3 and 4 gear blasts. Not that you can go very fast in 3rd with an RA box! Never had any issues with map.

whos mapping the car

most will have a person they can borrow to do the driving

If i remember correctly i may have gone into 3 figures but only just - but that was running 380 +bhp

im sure your mapper will understand if you dont want to drive

I drove mine, it's a doddle. I never got over 80 MPH IIRC. It's mapped to around 330 brake.
