Default Running Costs

Hi people

I am totally new to this forum. I am currently looking at buying a Subaru impreza wrx 06 model and was looking for some advice/ information.I have done my sums and can afford the car and the insurance however was looking on some information on the general running costs.
Can anyone tell me roughly how much it costs for things like
Servicing your subaru? minor and major?
Replacing tyres on a Saburu wrx and also how often is this normally done with 4 wheel drive cars?
Any other unexpected costs?

Any information would be much appreciated and may help me in my final decision in purchasing the car.

Stu

I reckon about £250 for service a year up to the 30k one, tyres every 10-12k depending on your driving.
as long as you dont do any aftermarket mods your warrenty should cover and unexpected mishaps.
1st service at 1000 miles should only cost you the labour(if the cars from a Subaru approved dealer)

welcome BTW

Hi

1996 sti v2 408bhp based on 6000 miles per year

1. Insurance £500
2. Tax £190
3. Mot £40
4. Tyres every 4000 miles £350
5. Octane boost every tank £10 per week or £500 year
6. 13/17 mpg £1500 a year
7. Oil service every 1000 miles engine/gearbox/diffs + fillter £80>£100per change £550 a year
8. 2 full services a year oils/coolant/brake fluid/fillters/hks air fillter clean £200 year
9. Brake pads every 4000 miles (6 pot AP) £60

Thats about it for me, on top of that is running repairs / mods / upgrades /

So im looking at £3890 for 6000 miles = £0.65p per mile , then take in to that ive spent £1500 already this year on engine upgrades and its only january big grin every mile too priceless.

Ps thats me doing the services
Mick

That is excessive, you must have it on a track permanently.

I have a 2002 400bhp STI and it does:

24mpg on average, more like 20 when driving harder
Insurance £700
Tax £180
Mot £30
Tyres every 12000 miles £75 a tyre for toxo proxies, sometimes 2, sometimes 4 need replaced
Oil service every 4000 miles £40 for engine
2 services a year £200
Brake pads every 12000-20000 miles (6 pot AP 330mm type) £150

If keeping it standard you shouldnt have a problem, depends on your wages though
If i was u i would buy a 2004-2005 STI due to depreciation

12000 miles on tyres ,I WISHED and i have 330mm disc with 6 pots and im lucky to see 4000 miles on my pads, you must drive very slow, needless to say i change stuff when they are low not when there down to the wire, excessive may be on the services but then i think you can never look after a car to much,

12000miles on tyres you lucky lad

No i dont wait till tyres run bald or pads run till the metal dont be stupid you must be driving far too hard on bends or braking really hard for them to last that length of time.

Wouldnt say i drive slow, fair enough i drive a lot of motorway driving but do nail it quite a bit ,just dont screech the tyres everywhere

Ah well enjoy you scoob
