Car history and mechanical check?

If I receive a call back today I shall be off to Leeds tomorrow to look at a STi VI for £21600 with 500 miles on the clock and loads of extra's.
Do any of you guys know of a friendly Scoob Garage/mechanic in or near Leeds that could give the car the quick once over to make sure all is well at short notice? Failing that I shall have to use the RAC and have a HPI check done instead.
Which brings me onto the vin number locations, anybody let me know how many and where they are located on the Scoob?
Any helpful info much appreciated
