Question

Would be good to know for definite. We've had offers for ours from a couple of people who said that they couldn't get them in Europe (unless imported over).

I'm pretty sure the RB5 was a UK-only one, although Europe (at least Holland) had a special edition 'Stars' which I think is pretty much the same IIRC...

Cheers

The RB5 is UK only but you could buy something very similar from Holland called the "Stars25"

This car has all of the extras found on the RB5 but has standard MY99 alloys and doesn't have the RB5 "graphics".

I know because I've got one

To celebrate Richard Burns' first year in the Subaru World Rally Team, the RB5 (5 was the number Richard used during the 1999 WRC championship) was launched to critical acclaim by the press. 444 examples of this car were made available to the general public. A "WR Sport" version of the car was available at extra cost, specified at delivery time by the first owner.

Blue Steel metallic paintwork
Fully colour-coded exterior (mirrors, door handles, skirts and driving lamp covers)
Blue 'Alcantara' and suede-effect interior trim, with black 'jersey' surround on seats
Special graphite trim for the centre console
Air conditioning
Unique titanium/pewter coloured 17in, 6 spoke Speedline alloy wheels with Pirelli 'P Zero' 205/45 ZR17 tyres
PIAA front driving light conversion
Prodrive quickshift
Roof-mounted map reading lamps
RB5 side and rear decals (and also on driving light covers)
RB5 embossed carpet mats
RB5 interior-mounted, numbered plaque "Limited Edition" only 444 availabl
On the road price: £24,995

WR Sport Performance Package

Prodrive High wing (similar to the new STi 5 but with the brake light on the wing rather than boot lid)
Prodrive Performance pack, consiting of Prodrive ECU, exhaust and revised intercooler piping.
On the road price: £27,500

Now, after checking sidc out for this info, its the only car that doesnt say it just available in the uk (the cats, terzos and mcraes do just say for the uk market) so i think going by this that there are other ones for europe (and that LHD one i saw in bentleys of sheffield at a discounted price of around 16k!)

Tony - did this LHD car that you saw have all of the RB5 stickers (on fog light covers, wing and boot) as well as the 17" wheels ?

Alright ... as has been said:

The Dutch & Belgian "Stars 25" is very close to an RB5, if you take away:

. decals & embroidery
. numbered plaque
. Prodrive spoiler
. foglight covers

The Stars25 came in 2 colors: blue steel (like the RB5) and black mica (like my car). They have a fixed rear bulkhead and blue alcantara seats & doortrim (which is about the only thing that sets it apart from other Scoobs). They did come with "gold" alloys (yuck )

WR Sport is just a PPP'd version of the same car.

So the official answer is NO, the more practical answer is: you bet

The Prodrive spoiler looked very cool on the RB5 BTW.

Does that help Kim ?

Andy, yes it had all the RB5 bits including the stickers etc, it could have been a 1 off but who knows, it was being sold as an RB5 too! just LHD, still on a T reg thou.
