Default Rattle

Hi all

I have a rattle which appears to be coming rom the front passenger side. The drive seems ok though. When I changed my clutch a few weeks ago, the rattle stopped for a couple of weeks, but has slowly but surely returned. I dont know what I've done to stop it last time or how I can stop it permanently. It appears quite loud, could this be something to do with the brakes as it appears to stop when braking.

Please help the dumb ***

Could be a brake piston stuck?

But quite why it would stop when you changed the clutch would question that theory.

Check all the brake mounts and caliper

I wouldn't say you are a dumb *** if you changed your clutch!!

After the quotes I got, I'm glad I replaced it myself with a better clutch then the garage intended to use.

Going back to the rattle, I understand there is a clip holding the caliper. Could this make the loud rattle if lose or damaged?

Cheers for your help mate

The reason for those clips is to stop the pads rattling - so, yes, if loose or damaged or missing than thats your rattle!

i got rattles too on a MY05 WRX, first is from the centre console, but easily solveable, it's the cd cases shaking, but the second seems to come from the parcel shelf?????
Is it worthwhile to take car in for a final check before warranty ends? can it be done like this, and broadly speaking, will they be obliged to change any faults. Knowing that the reason the car is there is because the warranty is soon to expire?

Cheers
