I have the turbo smart vee port, doesnt do the psshhhh thing unless your screwing your car, when you drive normal it doesnt make a sound, but it helps maintain the old turbo, but if you want major PPSSSHHHHHHH dont by the veeport, its not that loud.

The HKS SSQV is very loud but you can soften the sound slightly. If you don't want too loud then a Forge one is a good option.
Dump Valves aren't highly rated on here btw. But it's your car, do what you want with it

Ive got a HKS SQV on my Classic ant its the best sound ever,
I have heard baileys and not much cop, the turbosmart might be alrights but HKS all the way i reckon.
Just buy what you can afford, really. And Dump Valves Rule!!

Cough#ahem#cough I have a bailey dv10 on a myoo turbo
sounds good! The only prob i have with it is if im holding the car at highish revs and have to throttle on and off a bit, it gets a bit jumpy
Hopefully its not doing any harm!!
Apart from that it sounds great, as good as my mates forge on a my99
Cheers davy b

Do you actually know how the standard re-circulating dump valve works?
If not, I suggest you do a search before splashing the cash on something which, unless you have a remap, is technically inferior!

I have a forge one - not that impressed - will no doubt put the std one on once I get sick of the pppppsssssstttttttttt sound
oh well you live and you learn

. im looking at getting one too. which sort is it that vents the air the same way as the standard one, as i know some vent to atmosphere and some vent elsewhere. not really clued up on b.o.v.'s...andy
It's a maxpower mod.
but.... thats what you want me to say muahahahahahahaha.
seriously if i insist on a chav valve, there must be one that doesnt sound ridiculous and works in the same way as the standard one (without being the standard one either before you say it
)andy
fair enough, might leave it then and stick with a standard one but.... thats what you want me to say muahahahahahahaha.

Do you just want to draw attention to yourself?
Do you want to spend money on costly, noisy modifications that do nothing for performance
but make old ladies become incontinent at pedestrian crossings?
or even a Subaru Blouson Rally jacket.
anyways, on a serious note,c an you answer the question i originally asked bubba? if not, fair enough, if so, thanks in advance...
If you want to change your dump valve for an aftermarket one, you can get a forge recirc (shiny metal thing) or a HKS SQV with recirc adaptor
both wont be any different to the bog standard one that is already on your scoob as they both recirc the air back, and not vent to atmosphere, so you dont get the pssshhhhhhht sound, or the lumpyness around 3k rpm
it is a subject that has been done to death on SN since it began I think
the only thing the above two DV's will do over the standard subaru one, is add some shine to under your bonnet

Infact, you may actually increase the turbo lag. One thing for sure though.... you'll waste lots of fuel money!
