Selling a car and chaning the registration?
My Scoob has a cherished registration on it. As far as I'mm aware I have to take it to my local DVLA offive with the MOT, tax disc, V5C and completed V778/1. This means I can put the old reg on straight away. They then send the V5C off to Swansea.
What happens if I want to sell the car within the 4 weeks of waiting for the new V5C? There must be something I can do!?
Please help!!!
Nick

Unlikely that anyone would buy a car if you can't produce a V5 (they would be mad). The good news is that at this time of year (no new Reg's) it should only take the DVLA a week to turn around the V5 - that's my recent experience anyway.

They've already seen that I have the V5 registration document tonight.
The only thing I'd be worried about is that they would be driving it and it would still be in my name, or could I put his details on it when I swap the reg details????
Does the DVLA not have a temporary V5 form of some sort whilst the original is away?
