Default WHAT POWER SHOULD I EXPECT??

Im hoping to get a MY99/00 Turbo 2000 UK model within the next few months. Firstly, what is the standard power of these?? I will be looking to mod it to the limits of my wallet to extract the most power out of it. What are the options I have?? I was hoping to get it up to around 300bhp if possible, what would I need to get this kinda power??? Also, what sort'a costs are invloved?? I will have around £2k to spend on it once I have purchased the car, so will be doing as much as I can with this.

Finally, roughly how relieble are these once modded?? Do you get regular problems with them, or are they pretty good in that repect??

2k is unlikely to get you to 300bhp

standard there 215bhp,

pannel filter, ful decat and remap which will prob be roughly £1600 once vat added on will see roughly 260bhp. At that stage you'll be getting to the stage where the turbo will be maxed out, and once you get to the stage it ainto gonna be cheap to hit 300bhp

A 99/00 UK may not be the best starting point to get 300 bhp cheaply.
Is this a specific car you have seen?
An STi will get to 300 bhp relatively easily with loads of change out of £2k.

buy yourself a second hand IHI blower from a classic sti...you will have 440 injectors on a MY99\00 so with the full-decat and panel filter 300bhp shouldn't be an issue. You may require a fuel pump upgrade, but at under £100 a walbro 255 won't bust your budget.

Have a search in the technical section for more details.

standard UK box should be OK for up to around 350. unfortuntley MY99\00 are not the strongest and so if you are brutal with it you will kill it (I've killed two and am now on a P1 box and diff).

Might be alright for some time, depends on how you treat it i guess

also not the bhp that destroys the box but the torque

I'd have thought so, the blower should be less than £300...removing and re-fitting a fuel pump is a pi$$ easy job and so is the turbo as long as none of the fixings are too corroded...add that to your figure of £1600 and you get £2k

seriously doubt it mate, the chances of not one of the bolts not being corroded is about as likely as winning the lottery.

might be worth getting a fixed quote eh, then makes no difference how long

its an easy job if you have space and are not pushed for time...i try to do as much of the work on my car as i possible can so the only 'labour' charges in my minds eye would be the actual mapping cost...and don't forget when you have your full decat fitted you are removing the downpipe from the turbo anyway

apexi power fc supplied and fitted by andy forest is 700 quid+vat....decat and zost (2nd hand) £150, air filter 20-30 quid.. and was quoted 280 easy on td04(by andy himself) and very safe and usable as the apex allows for independant fueloing so no melted piston ! so i dont know where 2k would go and only get 260hp as quoted earlier....this is the route i was going down before i bought my 555 sti ! which already has around 300/320.....its safe to say that the money would be better spent on an sti fromk the start (albeit a little older) .. for got to say,,,300bhp is plenty !! after that its expensive !!
