Default JDM STi - Intercooler Water Spray Auto Operation.

How often in this cold weather wiil it be likely that the auto I/C Water Spray will operate ?
My bottle is usually still full after a weeks commuting
The switch is definitely depressed !
Alternatively, in manual, how does one know when to use the manual spray function ?

Thanks,

Simon.

It wont use much this time of year, you'll need to fill it up every few hundred miles in the summer though.

I rarely use manual, I leave in auto the whole time, my guess is that if it needs to spray, auto mode will take care of it. I've always been a bit sceptical of the real difference this makes anyway!

It might not be using any water because the spray nozzle is blocked - I find that the spray nozzle it seems to block up very quickly.

Test it in manual to check that it works.

In ordinary commuting, mine never used any at all.

I emptied a bottle in a few miles once on the Isle of Man, though

Intake temp needs to greater than 18 deg C, at under 3000 rpm it won't work whatever the temp.

cheers

Do UK spec STI's (03 - 05) have water sprays? Remember seeing water getting sprayed on an old top gear review.
