If You Lock Your Keys Inside Your Scoob
Here's a good tip, wish I'd known of it sooner. A few weeks ago my Wifelet was in her Scoob in a Car Park and was loading it up after a Show.
She chucked the keys on the seat, NOT THE IGNITION.
Woman next to her wanted to get into hers, she shut the door to let her in and, did a few things. Door locked itself with the spares looking at her from the Drivers Seat.
I had to get the spare set and do a 90 mile round trip to rescue her.
Here's the tip I've been given ( we have tried it with several different mobiles & cars & it works) NOKIA TO NOKIA ONLY
Phone who has your spare set with your remote, put your mobile a foot from the fromt Windscreen then, get them to pres the button on the spare remote.
YOUR CAR WILL OPEN!
Imagine if your in Cornwall or somewhere on Holiday, hundreds of miles away from your House, cracker.
Hope this helps someone.
KInd regards

Borro, in answer to your measured response. What do you mean?
Do you mean you have actually tried this and succeeded or is your post, something much more sophisticated and, something that I have missed?
To the rest of you, here it is again... NOKIA TO NOKIA ONLY
Phone the other person that has your second remote ( if you haven't got 2 remotes, it won't work) on your Nokia to their Nokia.
Then get your mobile and, place it around a foot from your Windscreen ,( whilst your still on line) and get them to press the remote their end.
It will open.
If you actually do this, it will work.
I am only trying to offer advice in the spirit of what this "Scooby Net" thing is supposed to be all about. ( passing on tips to help fellow Scooby Owners)
If you can't see what the spirit of the Scooby Net or, my tip to try to help you get out of a difficult situation, is all about, then, you haven't grasped the essence of this Community.

Definitely not a modern myth!
Just tried it between two phones (not Nokia).
Try it, it works. It's the signal from the remote that's being transmitted, not a sound.

Answers to your questions, Nokia to Nokia, we tried Motorola to Motorola/Nokia Nothing!
Nokia to Nokia seemed to work, we tried 4 Scoobs, 2 BMW's & 1 Merc all worked with no problem.
We tried mates who were 2 or 3 miles away, I tried a pal in Scotland who was 400 miles away, it all worked.
Nokia to Nokia, I don't know??
On the question of Air waves Sounds etc, again, I don't know, I really don't care, if it works, just take the benefit of this little tip.
As I have already said, I'm trying to contribute in the spirit of the Scooby Net General Community, " trying to help each other."
To those who, post ********* and stuff Wind up or whatever, if you have tried it and it doesn't work, then fine, if all you can do is wee wee on peoples fireworks, without trying this then, theres not a lot I can do to help you, help yourself.
IIFFF on the other hand, this tip helps get you out of a tricky situation, then I'm happy.
I'm off to the Pub now cos I'm exhausted trying to help my felow man ( and lady).

I haven't tried it yet but I will, another trick Jeremy Clarckson showed once was if you were JUST out of reach from your car for the remote to operate, touch the metal part of the key against the side of your head or ear and operate the remote and it will work. I know you'll look but it's better than walking back to the car / van to check that youv'e locked it

Well i'll say thanks for the tip Alan MaC. I tried it with two V3i's (Motorola) and worked fine for me.
Even if it doesn't work in the future, it's still worth a shot to save a journey.
