sorry to hear that bud,its piston slap, alot of scoobs suffer from it when cold..
aslong as it goes away once the engine warms up it isnt a problem..
mine does it too and i think ill have the same problem when i come to sell mine unless the buyer knows about scoobs..

Why dont you take it for a drive before someone comes to view it so it's already warm.

My MY98 had piston slap (like a lot of them in that year). I was honest when I sold the car and said it like it is.

As the guys say nothing to worry about as long as it goes when warm (ie, with 5-7 minutes).

well it does quiten down but doesnt go altogether till its proper warmed up (which it wasnt !) yes it was the guy who was coming today...disappointed but if he wasnt sure then he has to do what he thinks is right...the thing is, its 100% spot on this car so i am not worried about it...i guess some people arent as clued up about them as others !!! ho hum !! someone will get a nice car !! anyway, i am off to docks tomorrow regardless !!! ive got a pre 96 import to get my hands on !!

With the piston slap:

1. Will it get worse over time?

2. Will it damage the engine?
