Default Need some advice!

I'll get straight down to business. My local Jap importer is able to get me these cars for around £1000-1500k less than stated below and are 2005 models:-

Standard STI = £17,597
S203 STI = £21,983
STI spec C = £19,604

Evo 9 (GSR) = £18,788

I know I'm on a scooby forum but I put the Evo on there purely because it's the GSR (6 speed, lightened panels, super active yaw etc....)

With that in mind and of a probable maximum budget of £18k(ish) which would you go for? (That potentially puts the STi, Spec C and Evo 9 in contention!)

I'd like to know why you could choose it as well because I'm currently in a dialemma as I'm a huge Evo fan but now I have a WRX I love subaru!!!

Cheers
PJ

have you checked insurance on each as that may have a bearing.

Well, I know what a WRX drives like so a Spec C should be alot better .

After owning a 172 Cup for a few years an having a tricked MK2 Golf 16v with adjustable spax I know what it's like to have spine-shattering suspension so with the C I would imagine it'd be alot more comfortable but roll alot less than my WRX!

Evo 9.... it's an Evo 9....!! Yea, guess I see what you're saying - it's a bit of a tough decision but at the end of the day there's enough people driving both of them out there to get a good view on it's day to day driveability! (Hence this post!)

My aim is to have a day to day car that I can use for my local hillclimb / sprint but can't afford to run two cars for this so may as well get something good enough for both!

<cough> EVO 9<cough>

never driven one, but If I won the lottery then the first car I would buy would be an evo (probably a 6 as thats when I first noticed them and wouldnt need a lottery win for that as about 11k should see a decent one)

Reasons (apart from being dream car), a lot less common than our scoobs, never seen a bad example on the roads, not driven by pimple faced chavs (sorry if anyone has a pimply face and isnt a chav)

Driven a UK car, not very clever compared to the JDM couterparts.

Driven an Evo, felt too artifical for my liking. I couldn't predict what it would do next as the AYC was doing it all for me

I would say the Spec C if you want the pure hardcore drivers car, allthough the S203 does sound nice. Better than a stock STI but with more comfort than a Spec C. It would be different that's for sure as I don't there are many, if any, in the UK.
