Grey Import as a trade in
hi folks
I was wondering if anyone on here has used their grey import subaru as a trade in at a main dealers, either subaru or any other manufactures when buying a new car.
I'm curious to see if dealers will accept them or if I'll be sent packing and would be better off flogging the car private.
Cheers for the input

Private sale mate! I had a grey import 4x4 before my Scooby, and I had it up for £3995 private but most car dealers wouldn't go any higher than £1500 bearing in mind, I had spent £2000 on it in the last year to get it through its MOT and it was pretty clean for a '94 plate!
I think dealers are scared they'll never sell an imported car... although I would go for an import over a UK car any day, get so much more for you money (even if the insurance is a bit more!)

I was offered just over £3k for my V4 Type R by Seat in may last year on an 06 Leon. YIKES!!!
Problem is the sales guy couldn't be bothered to do his homework and kept me waiting over 7 days to get back to me too.
I've ended up keeping it as a 2nd car and am glad i did too.
Best to try and get a private sale as its will be priced up at the closes uk equivalent unless you set the Nissan via an importer as they will be better able to price your car.
