Default 1999 STi Wagon V5 JDM !! differences

Does anyone have any idea how much one of these should be go for moneywise?
Is this a rareish car?

I'm looking at a STi Wagon 1999 in silver.. totally bone stock with 1 lady owner .. good condition all round .everything looks to be in correct order and full history GF8F5ED

also does anyone know any differences between the V3 , V4 and V5 engines.

And finally would this car in this trim be difficult to sell in the future?

Many thanks

There were quite a few differences between the engines, Manifolds, Cams, Pistons, possibly turbo, gearbox changed from 4 hole 752 to 8 hole 754. possibly rear diff and g/box ratios.

I'm not sure on the numbers made, but I believe any classic STI Wagon is quite rare, cant see it being a problem to sell in future if it is what it says on the tin

HTH

Hi,

as an owner of an STi v5 wagon I thought I should post up on this thread.

The car is a bit of a collectors item being a v5 and they get rarer all the time so it will be as good an investment as you can get with a scoob wagon, will hold its value better because its a sort after model. The v5 and the P1 that shares the same engine suffer from the bottom ends that are prone to go and spookily lots got about 60-70k not sure why that is, mine whent at 66k somebody more informed than me may have better info on that so dont want to give out duff info.

The main benefit of the v5 is that of the ECU, it can be ecutek'd and doesnt need replacement ECU like earlier versions. I can post up info on engine differences if you like, i have a link in my favourites somewhere.

Happy Wagoning

I dont think that it is an STI, from what I can see. It looks like a TK WRX 'Wagon. If it were an STI then it would simply be an 'STI': Subaru only names them from the first full-production models introduced in September 1995 (the MY96: STI V2).

Its possible; because the 1994 cars (Saloon & 'Wagon) and the 1995 cars (Type-RA Saloon) were all altered-production (retro converted from completed standard models), so they retain the original model's Applied Model Numbers..... The seats dont look right to me though; they appear to be normal 'Wagons seats. With a car like this its all down to small pointers like that. In my opionion though, if it was an STI then it would retain the original STI plate on the NS inner wing, as thered be no reason for TK to remove it (quite the opposite). That said, if its got most of the original TK options on then its probably a rarer/better car than a 1994 STI anyway...

Nardi refers to the sterring wheel and the gearknob. If it has a sort of grey-blue berber material on integrated headrest bucket seats then itll be a WRX.
