Signs of track rod ends going...?
Whats the signs of track rod ends going (MY00 UK Turbo if it makes a difference?)
Without bias'ing anyones opinions im gettings (although havent investigated too much yet)...
grinding/squeaking when turning the wheel (at low speed)
vibration/grinding through the steering column, again at low speeds.
Does the bearing/point where the steering column comes through the bulk head ever need lubricating? This is what the last point above feels like needs doing.
Sorry for the confusing post but i cant help it, im good at them!

Track rod end would make a knocking noise. Easy to get under car and wiggle the end to see if there is any free play. Alternatively joint might be seized in which case you'll have trouble wiggling it at all. Could also be seized lower ball joint on strut but this would make a noise with suspension movement.
