Default Winter corrosion

I have the following issues with winter and my car :

1) Flaking & bubbled paint on my wipers

2) A small patch of rust spreading from the edge of my door & on the roof

3) Bubbled paint on all my alloys

4) Salty deposits in my engine bay

etc, etc

All of the above have happened between washes (say 3 weeks or so) and would cost £100s to fix.

Anyone else noticed damage as a result of winter? Baa humbug

I think the problem with Jap imports (I'm assuming your is a Jap) is paintwork is pretty poor!! I've had a few Jap imports (not all Scoobys) and have all suffered dodgey wiper blades. If its the actual wiper - replace it, if its the main "stalk" of the blade, can you not remove it, rub it down, and respray? Maybe with a damp proof type paint (boat paint?)
Again, rust is always going to happen it just depends on how well painted your car has been, and how well its been looked after. That will be a case of getting it resprayed - maybe just in the affected area?
Dodgey paint on the alloys is probably down to Salted roads... Japan don't salt their roads, hence why if you get a Jap import brought over yourself, the underneath, alloys and engine bay is normally mint! My alloys are awful, but cant see the point in spending £100's to get them done... I don't show the car.
Engine bay again is down to salted roads and wet weather! Thats a simple case of taking to a good car wash and getting it Steam Cleaned. I steam cleaned my old Jap 4x4 and it was amazing the difference it made!!

Hope this helped????
