In fact, what about UK specced STi's too ?

I have an STI PPP and average around 20mpg at an estimate.
Not a car green peace would be proud of but what the heck!

Yeah, getting 300+ plus miles out of a tank on these things means you ain't driving it properly. You need to sell it and get a 1.0 litre saxo to drive round in

If you are even vaguely interested or concerned about the MPG of a Scoob, especially a JDM STi, then you can't afford to run one!

things haven't improved over the 'older' models I see!

our my97 JDM STi v3 gets 220 - 240 miles on a tank... best ever is 320miles...ever ever ever.... only cos we were so low and so far from a shell... 55mph in an sti hurts... worse stil, a fellow impreza driver flew past us at around 80-90mph going south on the m23 one evening... never ever again I tell you !! LOL

but we can get that down to under 100....

Mikey

PS: a solution to the fuel thing... buy a different car if it worries you that much.. and keep the scoob for fun. these things don't really do fuel economy... it's just not their forté. They do nearly everything else stunningly well, just don't mention the fuel too much.

The poorest attribute of ownership is the fuel (and the image nowadays) but i went into it knowing single digit mpg was on the cards if I hoon it around, and mid 20's was more than likely the average.
So what? I don't care, I like the car too much to be bothered about the fuel... allthough I did slow down by about 10% when Optimax was £1.05 per litre lol

Approx 200 miles to a full tank, mainly town driving, with some quick pull aways at lights!

thanks guys - it was more a concern as to whether i was getting a very low mpg, as it's single figures if i keep it above 5000rpm for the back lane thrashes.
averaging 19/20mpg around town and mid 20's on a run.

Does it not take the edge off the fun of spirirted driving when you know that you're getting single digit mpg? Don't you look down at the fuel gauge after a quick blast and think about how much it has cost you? It always used to bother me even though I could afford the fuel.

I am now in the exact opposite position with my planet friendly diesel. Even with a light foot I would get only 250 miles out of a tank in my STI, but now I get 700 miles for the same £50. It doesn't have the wonderful engine that my old CTR had, but the 1500 miles I do every month costs me £200 less.

planet friendly diesel nope... the mpg may make folks think it's good for the environment, but they chuck out serious amounts of nasties too.... the diesel is, however, very pocket friendly in terms of fuel costs, espeicially in the circumstances you've quoted, way the right thing to do..
some diesels can be fun too, what you driving now then?

I think ive lost count on threads about fuel consumption since ive been here

Do we have to keep on being reminded of how bad our cars are on fuel economy?

I had only had the car a few days so was taking it steady, im only 18 I need some subaru experiance before I can molester the throttle! I drove down at a steady 60-80 mph all the way there, and it honestly got about 300 miles with around a 10th left of the fuel tank, so I estimate 330 miles!

Mikeyace, I now have a new Civic Diesel. Good car albeit not that exciting.

That must be a typo. You get through £250 of petrol every WEEK? That equals £13,000 per year on petrol. Tell me that isn't correct
