Default So this is how it stands, P1 nearly an owner.

There is one in dronfield, near me. it doesent have the uprated brakes.
it has done 50000 miles 12500. But they will only give me 7750 for my st220, witch is 03 plate.

The p1 has full service history, but in one it was late by 6000 miles?? Really dont no what to do. as I need to get rid of the mondeo.

don't do it, it is vital that servicing is done on time and at 50k miles ona p1 that is the time to be most wary. as the money he is offering for your st220 is only average try some other dealers.
well lane turbo centre had 2 excellent condition p1's in.
if you need to drive the whole length of the country it will be worth it. Take it from me i have rushed into buying cars asap and never again. Whjat harm would another £10 on the phone bill do and a bit of extra time travelling in the car.
hope this helps

yes i know garages will charge a little bit extra but it save a lot of haasle and you will also get a limited warrenty. like i say try well lane turbo as they do part ex. have looked at official subaru???

just been omn official subaru website, this car looks like it would be a safe bet and as its official subaru you would get a 12month warrenty and 1yr breakdown. have a look in the search oftions and look for this dealer

Research Garage Group Ltd
Barling Way Eliot Park Nuneaton Warwickshire CV10 7RG CV10 7RG

Phone: 02476 377170
Fax: 02476 383806

buying private is always a gamble with old cars. just look at the attitude of this guy on ebay and his responses to questions. does he really think he is going to sell it with an attitude like that.

That P1 seems expensive to me I'd also be very concerned that it was 6k late for a service 1k wouldn't worry me too much but 6k on a scoob is ridiculous

I'd just buy a JDM Type R. Don't see the fuss over a P1.

yes the one at monty's looks like a good motor. although the one i saw was 1000 pound cheaper and had 500 miles more. 8.5k for the modeo is better than 7700 though aint it.

sounds like things are progressing well for you!!!

where abouts in the country are you?

Aside from Barry who is a top bloke they're all w@nkers including Billy the owner. They charge rip off prices for substandard work. I do not have experience of their car sales service though.

there are two at montys 1 at the sheffield one £14000,,,, then research subaru at coventry £13000. just go on auto trader website and narrow the search down. there all on there. it okay them saying 8500 for mondeo thats just over the phone, that was the coventry one who said that, I havent spoke to the one in sheff, I live about 15mins away from j30 of the m1.

I wouldn't worry too much about the uprated brakes. It will be cheaper to buy some after market ones and have them fitted yourself. The problem with the Alcons is disk replacement as I found out to my detriment, best price for a set of replacement disks £500!!!

That's still expensive and I wouldn't buy one with that mileage on it unless it'd had the engine done. For some reason they blow up around this mileage but I have no idea why

if it's been serviced well you should be fine, warrenty is a big issue though so maybe private is not the route to go down. if they have offered 8.5k on the phone then there should be no problems as long as you have accurately described it.
When i went to pick up my sti8 they gave me a price of 22k for a 320 bmw that they had never seen. he looked round it for 2 mins and then in the workshop and then paid out.
if they tried to move the goal posts on the 8.5k then i would walk away from the dealership altogether. it may be that they need to get their yearly targets and maybe that's why he has offered you a better price than you were possibly expecting????
