Default I'm a scooby noob-y... advice wanted please

I've currently got an MG ZS180. I've had it a few months and love it to bits, they're great cars. I've always wanted an Impreza though but now I've come to look for one, I've realised there's a lot to learn about them.

I'm after a 5 door UK spec car (turbo) on at least a W reg (so I can put my private plate on it).

I've got no more than £6000 to spend in total on the car so will I get a decent UK spec car for this? Are there any standard faults to look out for on these cars? Also, I've seen a couple with engine rebuilds at around 75000 miles so is this quite common or is it only if they've been rallied to death?

Any comments\advice appreciated

I didn't bother getting a quote as it was only one insurance group higher than my MG... just rang my insurance company and they can't quote me on one because I'm 23

It's only a little more powerful than my MG so I guess there's other factors they take into account.

I could get a new quote but I'd lose my NCB for this year and would only get a 40% refund so it's not worth it.

Thanks for the advice... i'll be back on here when I can get insured on an Impreza

your lucky you got away with it, few people have come on and have found out the same but already bought the car.
