Default MY00, 02 and 03 STI s good for high miles?

Looking to buy a used car, what mileage have you guys done on standard engine?
Most have done less than 60.000 it seems.
Highest P1 I have seen was with 97000 miles, any more high milers?
Do they wear out quicker than Standard Turbo engine due to bit more power output?
Assuming all engines treated with same respect and servicing?
Looking to change my Classic for P1, but most are getting on a bit mileage wise.
Also considering 02 or 03 STI but prefer P1.

Mine has done 99750 and will be sold tomorrow. However, it has sat on motorways for most of it's life which is why you have to be careful when using mileage as an inidcator. I bet mine is in better condition than most cars with 50k on the clock and just goes to show how strong the engine is given that it has been remapped etc.

I know it depends on lots of variables, but am am trying to ask are these engines a bit more stressed?
Thus making the servicing and history even more important.
Or is the engine stronger and on par with a standard uk turbo for longivety?

i know my 04 jdm sti has uprated engine internals making it stronger than uk equivilants. THe newer-age cars also seem less prone to MAF failures etc

I would guess that they are no more hightly stressed than the 'modern' engines but as I said, it's more about how the car has been treated. Mine had it's first clutch replaced at 96k and had oil changes every 5k whereas plenty of Scoobs have had far harder lives.

I knew standard turbo is very strong car, if looked after, seems STI s are just as reliable.
Been changing oil in mine every 3000 and car never uses a drop between services. not the cheap stuff either!!
Probably a bit of a money waste, but she does run very very sweet.

102k only two wheel bearings... do track days/nurburgring and drive it hard... I would say a service history where it's well looked after is essential...

45k on my 02 STI all on country A/B roads.

Problems:

Rear windscreen shattered on the previous owner when switching the demister on one very icy morning.

Battery replaced due to not keeping it's charged.

Clutch release bearing went- New clutch kit fit at 30k.

Apart from that (which i see as very few problems) it's running well and having a Tek3 remap back end of Feb by Andy Forrest

Yes 3 years or 60k miles if you want more added to that then you buy the extra warranty, they will probably give you the extra pages then
