Sounds far too cheap - most people pay that for a cambelt change alone.

I'm doing a service this week, and in parts alone it's cost me:

Plugs £32
Millers oil £30
Millers gearbox oil £30
Millers diff oil £9.99
Fuel Filter £8.99
Oil Filter and sump washer £7.50
Coolant £15.99

That's £134 without the cambelt, air filter, and brake fluid....

Obviously if cheaper parts are being used it's possible, i.e. plugs could have cost half what mine did, as could the oil etc - but I'd rather pay extra for the parts and do the work myself.

Would still say it sounds far too cheap due to the fact the cambelt change is included though.

£500 is cheap for a C&D service, which is what this essentially is.

Thats not bad. My main dealer here quoted me £234 for the 50K mile service and that included the cambelt change.

Cheers

very cheap mate, £234 for 50K service - Mondeo service price

people down here charge a fortune for a service.

worth a visit to Gordieland to see my beloved NUFC and get a cheap car service.

I trick i found, i buy the consumables on the internet and let the dealer fit them.

I found a scooby dealer that charges £34 per hour (in bedfordshire), not the obsene £90 some local large dealerships charge near Maidenhead.

Worth a day out to bedford with the wife.

Don't just accept high bills, shop around.

Even a Mondeo (cheap car to run, hence the example) can cost £1000 for a service if you get suckered.

Subaru charge £200 for labour and £70 for the belt just for a cambelt change. With a service i'd expect to pay the thick end of £500

Haddocks in Colchester charged me £650 for a cambelt service.

I never went back, now go to Special Scoobies in Colchester, who said they could have done it for about £400 ish.

Not sure how anyone can do it for £200 tbh?

On the newages, the 50K is a minor service so the cambelt takes the bulk of the cost.

Cheers
