Default Rear seat belt inertia unit

Hi,

Whilst straping my daughter into her car seat the last few mornings I have noticed that the belt was kept jamming - well this morning it has finally jammed for the last time! No freeing it!

Car is just out of warrenty.

Anyone else experienced problems - 2003 WRX

Are they easy to remove? Just about to have a go! Any alternatives to Subaru dealers £110 + VAT? They are sealed, so guess it will need to be replaced - too important to take a chance.....

Cheers

Are you sure it's not just the ratchet mechanism..?

If the rear seat belts get pulled out to the stops the engage a ratchet. To release allow belt to rewind fully.

Just a thought..

Thanks jasonius. It was easy to remove, and it functioned perfectly well. It was initially locked/jammed, but released upon removal....

Refitted and functions fine at the moment.

I'll give a go for a while and see if it's fixed!

Cheers
