Default mods needed pre-remap

Hi all just a quick one to see what are the BEST / NEEDED mods to have done before my car gets remapped , (my03 wrx ) I.E fuel pump , up/down pipe etc

The car has a H&S back box , k&n panel filter on already so any help will be ace ,

Cheers , Dave

P.S does the mileage have any affect or add any danger to remapping etc . ta .

Decat, panel filter are the usual start, fuel pump can be done but not required at this level, on the wrx(not sure of blob) decat up pipe would be worthwhile then just good fuel and remap then enjoy the second honeymoon

I take it the de-cat makes it a bit of a nightmare come M.O.T time , or can you get a de-cat uppipe and a high flow cat downpipe , already got the panel filter , potentially got a non resonated centre section too ,

Thanks for the replies guys , keep em coming if you can , knowledge is a vertue

I think most owners are able to find a performance car friendly test centre

I had a uprated fuel pump, HKS Hybrid Panel Filter and left all the cats inplace and still managed 265 BHP and 334 Nm at Powerstation on an 01 UK WRX at the time on Tesco 97 RON! MOT friendly set-up and STi performance.

When the warranty ran out on my MY03 WRX Stealth Wagon I went for a H&S zorst (Group Buy) & a remap.

Hayward & Scott 100 cell high flow down pipe (only 2 BHP loss over decat pipe & MOT friendly)

H&S Up pipe

H&S Centre pipe straight through

Already have short section from PPP & Backbox.

Followed by a Tek3 re-map with Pat Herborn to get everything flowing nicely.

Resulting in :-

290bhp up from 252bhp (PPP)

275lbft up from 263lbft (PPP)

Boost 1.3bar up from 1.2bar.

I am a happy bunny
