Question How heavy are turbos roughly?

Silly question I know but I'm looking at buying a TD05 turbo and need to know the weight to calculate the shipping costs!

Cheers,

Plums.

A new TD05-06 20G I finished yesterday is 6.4 kg.
Work on that plus a little for packaging. Say 7kg.

I was so impressed I had to do a search.

There is now a TPL91B which is 14 tons and has a flow of 56m3/sec. Co developed by IHI!!!

I think you will find that is for a Sulzer Marine heavy deizle. Might even have water injection. Anyway you don't need the weight of that Elmer because it won't be going by post.

A few decades ago when I worked for Shell and I tuned Supertankers instead of cars we had a number of ships with 9 cylinder 2 stroke heavy fuel oil B&W engines with 3 similar turbos each Block & tackle to take a compressor wheel off
