Default Has anyone done a Subaru driving day at Prodrive?

I have booked a driving day at Prodrive, and I wondered how many people on here have already done this and what peoples views are of the experience.
I would be interested to hear peoples comments.
Thanks
Dean

I had an invitation sent by email, but I guess if you do a search for subaru driving days on the net hopefully it will give some results which are applicable.
I hope this helps.

Sorry to disappoint but someone told me it's just a thinly disguised sales pitch. You get to spend a short time on the track and then they spend the rest of the day trying to extract an order.

OK if they invite you as a freebie but if you have to pay for the privilege it's a bit out of order.

Hope not for your sake, let us know after you've been.

Cheers Chelspeed,If that's the case they might be disappointed then as I only got the Spec C in June and won't be selling it yet.
I will indeed let you know.

I did one in August, no sales pitch there. Instruction was good, as was the food!

Booked through News, Events & Track Driving - Track Driving | Subaru (UK) Ltd.

And chose the most local track.

All good IMHO

According to the joining instructions the Prodrive one is all day!

Followed by some input with the WRC team during lunch.

I have done a prodrive driving day but with my RX-8, it comes free when you buy one new. I found the day to be most enjoyable. First you go out with an advanced driving instructor to teach you tips & tricks about driving safley on the road (I found this part a bit boring). Then you do emergency braking from 100 Mph followed by a few sessions on the skid pan (lots of fun). Then a few laps on the adverse handling circuit which is mostly second and third gear stuff, and then you finish with a session or two on the high speed circuit.
All is done under expert tuition and I learned alot about the capabilities of the car and most importantly learned what the limit is in the car.
Alltogether a great day.

Chris.

Thanks for the replies.Interesting reading.
I am looking forward to the experience,I have done a rallyday at Bill Gwynne's which was a good buzz,so I thought I would try something on tarmac this time and perhaps learn a few tips for the one day a week I get to drive the car

Wow,I have just got back from the driveday and I thought it was excellent.
There were 4 different activities:
High speed driving,Skid Pan,Adverse camber and 4x4.The vehicles were STI,Legacy,WRX,and Forester.
There were about 40 people but with 4 car's to choose from on each activity and about 10 people in each group. There was a wide range of age groups which meant for some interesting driving techniques!!!But the star of the day was a 60+ gentleman who was what I could only describe as Hilariously Scary,if the 2 words go in the same sentence.
It was made more special with David Lapworth and Robert Reid being there, where they unveiled the new RB320.
The Instructors were excellent, and encouraged you to push and get the most out of the car and yourself.
It was good also to meet Mike Wood and I thank him for answering my questions.
If you are purely into Trackday's this maybe not what your after, however if you want to discover the abilities of the Subaru range and perhaps push the car more than what would be "unsafe" on the road, then this will fulfill your requirements!!!
There was only slight marketing at the end,but if you coughed you would have missed it!! But then who needs to market to hard when you have "just tried the merchandise"
All in all a good insight into BHP isn't everything from the man who was thinking about extracting an extra 25 bhp from his car
