Default What the heck is this?

I've owned my MY03 STI Type UK PPP for 15 mths now and thought I new every inch of it......until today!

I was looking for a decent location to install a "secret under dash" switch for extra security to take out the starter motor or fuel pump. I was looking to the right of the steering wheel and opened the flap that said FUSE and found this.

I never knew it was there and have not used it in 15 mths of ownership. My first thought was that its to do with the Subaru Alarm / Immobiliser as it has no brand name on it but I can't find anything in my Subaru manuals about it. Sorry for the rubbish photo, camera phone.

Anybody recognise it??

Craig.

It is for your alarm, you should have a 4 digit pin number, you can type it in to shut down you alarm if you ever need to

Its the immobiliser keypad which has many functions. You should have a seperate booklet specifically for the alarm system. To use it though you need to know your pin code, sometimes found on the instruction booklet. If not take it to a dealer who will reset it for you.
Useful to know in case you key fob fails as you can manually deactivate the system.
It can also be used to set the auto lock door setting when you turn the key in the ignition.

It's a Calculator for working out just how little miles per Gallon you really get

It's also a secret weapon control panel.

1) Ejector seat.
2) Smoke screen
3) Oil slick
4) Change number plates
5) Front mounted Machine Guns
6) Raises Rear Bullet proof panel
7) Rear mounted Machine Guns
8) Converts your car to a Submarine
9) Thermo Nuclear Rocket Launcher
0) Spray's out a Gas that attracts pretty Ladies.

Or it could just be the Alarm Key pad. One or the other anyway

So my dealer can reset it - time to go back and get someone who knows what they are talking about...

Will they charge for this as I cant find the PIN anywhere on the stuff I got when I bought my Classic 2nd hand but know where it gets service!

Thanks for the replies,

I take it the alarm / immobiliser instructions are in a separate manual, if they are I'm screwed. Anybody know where I can get the manual, assuming Subaru can't help me get one?
